Cancer Society Receipt* At All-Time High
Receipts of the American Cancer Society in Virginia for the current year have reached an all-time high of $673,335, it was announced today by Morrill M. Crowe of Richmond, State Chairman of the 1963 Cancer Crusade.
Mr. Crowe made his announcement following a meeting in Richmond of the Executive Committee of the Society’s Virginia Division. He said that the Cancer Society’s program year closes August 31, and that additional receipts are expected to raise the 1963 Crusade total to $705,000 or more. Last year’s total was $672,125. In a ten year period, the Society’s receipts in Virginia have steadily increased from $281,508 in 1954tothis year’s total of $673,355.
Thousands of volunteer workers in Virginia have been participating in the Division’s educational and fund raising campaign. The Virginia Division is made up of 103 Local Units representing all counties and cities in the state.
