August 1/, 19od - Today we got up on the last day of our hike on the trail. As we had horseback riding at 7:45 a.m. we ate part of our breakfast early, at about 5:30. We left for the corral at approximately 7:30. Along with us on our horseback ride were boys from two other expeditions. There were about 30 In the whole group. We left the corral and headed parallel to the mountains. There were three wranglers along with us to help us and to pick up hats, etc., if we dropped them. After about an hour of easy riding we stopped for a brief rest for the horses. The scenery around us was gorgeous and we all had a good time. After the rest we started back. We arrived back at the corral at about 11:00 and ate lunch. About suppertime. It started raining as usual. It rained hard and long but supper was still prepared by our expert cooks. After supper we went to the campfire. Again we had singing, although there were two staff members leading us this time. After an hour of fun, we all went to bed. August 13, 1963 - This morning we got up early so we would be ready when the bus picked us up. The bus would take us to main headquarters where we would stay for a night. In the morning we will board the bus and head home. We had to walk about a mile
