Many from the county were in Front Royal Saturday to attend the funeral service for Francis W. Slaughter, a former Rappahannock resident. Among those were Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Keyser, Joe D. Keyser, Henry M. Keyser, Mrs. F. Downing Wood, W. Arthur Miller, Harry Lee Smith, Sheriff Charles K. Estes, Deputy-Sheriff Ernest Lillard, Troopers W. A. Buntin and P. P. Dicks. Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Scudere left Monday for several days business trip to Washington, D. C. Mr. and Mrs. V. R. Updike had as guests from Friday until Monday Mrs. Updike’s mother Mrs. A. M.
