the Ladies Auxiliary to the Washlngton-Flre Company elected a new president, Mrs. Virginia Estes and VicePresident Mrs. Edward Clark.
Miss Mary Miller Wood retained the office of secretary and Mrs. Marietta Cheatham remained as treasurer of the group. The Auxiliary needs your cooperation in continuing its assistance to the F ire Company and the Rescue Squad. One of their main projects is the Rummage Sale to be conducted every week-end in May. You are urged to con tribute salable articles for which you no longer have use. They are also in need of sales clerks. With spring cleaning and “throwing out" time at hand, plead$ don’t forget the Rummage Sale! And then come help sell!
CLEAN-UP WEEK
SET APRIL 18-25
The Town Council of the \ Town of Washington has set April 18th to the 25th as Clean up Week. Trash Collection Day will be , Saturday April 25th with a pickup of all trash in addition to the regular collection of cans. The council voted to have the streets of the town cleaned and to resume the former practice of picking up paper once a week.
