Mrs. Julia Wood showed how to do invisible darning on our torn ‘ garments. Following this Mra Falls served refreshments to the following members and guests presents Mrs. Butler, Mrs. Cary Thornhill, Mrs. Julia Wood, Miss Mattie Rector, Miss Nellie Johnson, Mra B. G. Tltchenell, Miss Goode and guests, Mrs. June Clark and Miss Virginia Johnson. MrB. James Falls and Mrs. B. G. Tltchenell represented the club at the District VIII meeting in Manassas on April 8.

Mrs. Mary CleVeHey of Flint Hill will take part in a 3-day national conference of Homemaker Services which will begin April 29. The meetings will be held at the Mayflower Hotel, Washington, D. C. Mrs. Cleverley is a specialist in housing for the elderly. Homemaker Services are e» pected to play a major role in the war on poverty and in raising the level of living of countless American families. The meeting, first to be sponsored by the recently formed National Council for Homemaker Services, will attract more than 1,000 leaders from the welfare and health fields from all parts of the country.

Elmer E. Foster of Flint Hill has received a gold lapel pin from Knapp Bros. Shoe Manufacturing Corp. of Brockton, Mass, for 10 years of service as an independent sales representative. In this capacity, Mr. Foster has satisfactorily served his customers in this area. The pin was awarded in appreciation of his ability, cooperation, loyalty and friendship.
