Feeder Cattle
v 1About 4,000 head were sold at four special feeder cattle sales in Virginia last week. Prices averaged about $2.00 -$3.00 less than prices at l$pt year’s spring sales* This parallels prices on slaughter cattle which are averaging about $2.00 under prices at the same time last year onchbice steers and heifers. A sizeable increase over last year is expected in the total number of cattle sold through these spring feeder cattl^ sales. Prices for choice and fancy grades were $26.50-$29.00 in the 350-500 lb. range $23.25$26.00 in the 500-700lb. range and $20.50-$21.75 in the 700900 lb. range. Good grades brought $25.25 $28.00 in the 350-500 lb. rangje $22.25-$25.00 in the 500-70C lb* range, and $19.75-$22.2|E in the 700-900 lb. range.
