^LIBRARY WEEK is half over. Many of you have read numerous articles on sundry aspects of Libraries in our lives. It is good that we set aside a week each year to emphasize some of the facets of the great world of books as depicted through library service. During NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK thousands of Writers over the Country publish interesting and informative ma - terials on books as the great “tool" of learning. This year it is especially timely that the theme focuses on school libraries. Here we have a National effort concentrated on fostering better reading habits among our young people. One need not be an expert on education to know that today’s world is full of distractions, we may say inviting distractions, from the age old learning process of quiet concentration on serious reading. I., will give leader training to home demonstration leaders for the May demonstration on Household Hints to Save Time and Energy Each club is asked to have at least one representative present to receive the training. This should be a very good meeting for all who attend.
Miss Gloria Durden will represent Rappahannock County 4-H Clubs at the 4-H District Contests at Madison. Gloria will enter the Dairy Foods contest, demonstrating how to make cheese souffle. Good luck Gloria.
