No accidents were reported during the snow, but traffic was tied up at Massies Corner late in the afternoon when a bus, truck and several automobiles failed to negotiate the hill on Route 211 going east. Early Monday morning a motorist apparently skidded on the icy road and knocked down the mail box at the Misses Rileys in Amiss ville. Several motorists skidded off the beaten track,but withn©tragic results. Rappahannock school, as well as others in the area, were closed Monday, but reopened Tuesday morning. The warm winter sun Monday and Tuesday waged a running battle with the freezing temperatures of the nights. Wednesday dawned cloudy and more precipitation is forecast for Thursday or Friday.
