Son of the late James William Ramey and the late Aura Belle Atkins, and a native of Rappahannock County, he was an automobile salesman for a number of years. He was a member of Washington Methodist Church and an inactive member of the Washington Volunteer Fire Company. He is survived by one son, William Lewis Ramey of the U. S. Air Force, in Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Charles Thomas of Washington, Va., with whom he made his home in recent years. A funeral service was held Sunday, January 10, at Washington Methodist Church, the Rev. James B. Grimmer conducting the last rites with interment in Washington Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Amos Clark, Herndon Hudson, Nelson Nethers, L. H. Jenkins, Walter Hicks and Willie Payne Arrangements were handled by Geest Funeral Parlors.
