The Annual Staff is working hard, and their work is paying off. They have completed fortyfour pages of the '65 Rappsody After examinations, they will continue their work. Rappahannock Varsity lost its eighth game Friday night to Central. Central established a new record with a score of 87. Thomas Atkins scored 17 of our 40 points. Our J.V. team wins its second game! The game, played on the home court, score was 43-24. Carl Clark was high scorer with 18 points. O.K, Varsity, you’d better get with that ball. Brevity Has Its Points—But A hungry Frenchman vacationing in England, stopped at a country inn for breakfast. When the waiter came to take his order, he simply could not recall the English word for eggs. Being determined to get what he wanted, he clutched his throat and gave a crude cock crow, and said to the waiter, “What makes a noise like that so early in the morning?” “A rooster, sir,” replied the waiter. This frequently results in strained muscles or a sore back, or worse, a heart attack. Anyone with a record of cardiac trouble or past 40 should avoid unusual exertion in cold weather. This is especially true when it comes to shoveling snow, but it also applies to carry ing heavy packages, ice skating, skiing or just plain hiking. Cold weather is invigorating and makes people feel they can do much more than is healthy for them. People who get little exercise especially are susceptible to overworking
themselves in cold weather. If people nqust shovel snow, I recommend the following tips:
1. Start slowly and take it easy. Don’t attempt to clear a long driveway at one stretch.
2. Wet snow is heavy and will place a greater strain on the heart than the dry, powdery kind. Go easy when shoveling wet snow.
3. Keep a steady, unhurried pace and rest frequently. The
