Front Royal’s Gala Christmas Festival on December 4th 1965 promises to draw crowds from all over the Northern Vir ginia Area. Thousands ofsmili ing happy children are expected to line the streets of Front Royal, anticipating the ap-: pearance of Old Saint Nick. \ Festivities will begin at 2;00| p.m. with the featured Christ mas Parade. In addition to! Santa Claus, the parade will have Bands from our local schools and many out-of-town points. Eleven floats have been entered to date, with many5 more expected. They are; Coca Cola Bottling Co., Denny Drug, Huntsberry's Shoe Store_ Kirkland’s TV, Paul’s Maytag Salvation Army, Simonpietri’s Gift Shop, Standard Supply & Equipment Co., Trout Durg and Virginia Forestry. ‘The Nativity Scene Float”, always a favorite of the spectators, will again be sponsored by the Front Royal Jaycees. O t h e r clubs have indicated interest in putting floats in the parade, and will be announced when definite commitments are made. The Parade'Theme this year is ‘Home for Christmas.” The parade Committee felt that since so much activity is centered around home at Christmastime, this theme would be most in keeping with the true spirit of Christmas. A bevy of local beauties will ride in the parade. Miss Warren County, Junior Miss Warren County, Miss TriCounty, Warren High Homecoming Queen, Mosby Homecoming Queen, Miss CriseQ High School, Miss Warren County Fair, and Miss Shenan-1 doah County will be seen, j Other features of the parade will be announced at a later date.
