1965-66. Under this policy, three elementary grades, 1, 2 and 3, and two high school grades, 8 and 12, were desegregated on a freedom-ofchcice basis. Additional grades are scheduled to be included under the plan for 19C6-67. In order to provide adequate housing on a desegregated basis for children at the elementary level, a 21 acre site has been purchased on Highway #211 near Flatwood for the erection of an elementary school.
Volunteers Help with
Christmas Seals
“Volunteers are the most important asset we have," said Mrs. F. L. Bowey of Amissville, Christmas Seal Chairman for Rappahannock County. She noted that many have helped in the pasting of labels and stuffing of the Christmas Seal letters which reached the homes of county residents this week. Mrs. Bowey remarked that many hands make light work j and that there is still more yet to be done before the 1965 Christmas Seal Campaign is over.
Included with those who have assisted in the campaign preparations are Mrs. Sally Palmer’s typing class of Rappahannock County High School.
Others who helped are members of the Amissville Home Demonstration Club; Mes! dames Allen Cooper, Charlie Priest, S. W. Riley, Nelson Burner, Pete Baldwin, A. C. Latham, Norvel James, J. L. Walters, Mason Hitt, and Miss Marian Riley.
