Drawing and Painting
Class Met Tuesday
At the_ Initial meeting of the Drawing and Painting class which met at the L. J. Kilby home in Sperryville on Tuesday, there were seven men and women present and at least three additional people enrolled for future meetings. This class is sponsored by the Rappahannock Art and Craft Project.
The purpose of the class is to practice basic drawing with charcoal and pencil, to study color usage and color mixing and to progress to oil painting after a few lessons with basic procedures. The class is opened to anyone who is interested, but new members will not be accepted after the third session. It is imperative that new* members joining the grouj) come to the next meeting sched uled Tuesday, January 18, at 10 a. m. at Mrs. Kilby’s home. Materials needed will be supplied for 25C a day for the first few meetings and after the group is ready for oil painting each member will purchase his own supplies. Tentative plans are for.the class to alternate every Tufesday morning, beginning promptly at 10 a. m. and dismissing between 12 - 12:30, so members will not need to bring lunch. • For further information call Mrs. Helen Kilby at 987-2551.
Important Meeting
The Washington Fire Company and Rappahannock Res cue Squad will hold its annual election of officers a meeting scheduled for Monday January 10 at the fire house beginning at 8 p.m. Other important business will be transacted also. A meeting was not held in December so it is urgent that members attend this meeting January 10. Bertha Armel, Sec.-Treas.
