Marine Private John H^ Walter, son of Mr/and Mrs. Amos Walter of Warrenton, has graduated from Marine recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S. C. He is presently stationed at Camp LeJeune, N. C. He is a grandson of Mrs. L. J. Walter of Amissville and during the Christmas holidays visited her and also visited Mr. and Mrs. Stanish Riley.
Carroll Menefee, Jr.-of the United States Air Force has recently been promoted to the rank of Major. He is presently stationed at the Air Force Base in Wurtsmith, Mich. Major Menefee is a former resident of Rappahannock County and lived in Sperryville.
