Miss Universe Contest
In connection with the Miss Universe Pageant, the Rappahannock Chapter of the Junior Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a beauty contest in this county in the early spring probably April. Date, time and place will be announced later. The contest will be divided into four age groups, 5 to 9 years old; 10 to 13; 14 to 17; and 18 to 28. Winners of the 5 to 9 and 18 to 28 year old groups will go to Richmond to participate and compete in the Miss Universe Contest on the state level, with expenses paid by the Jaycess. The other two groups will receive county awards. Contestants may be sponsored by a business firm, by an individual or by themselves. An entry fee of $1.00 will be charged.
