They also will be eligible for conservation costshare payments on the divertecHand. And those who agree to permit free public access for fishing, hunting, hiking, and trapping in accordance with appropriate State and Federal regulations may get additional per-acre payment. A wildlife advisory board is being appointed by the Secretary to recommend the most effective procedures for expanded use of surplus crop acreage in fostering wildlife and increasing hunting and fishing recreational opportunities.
All of the land bpcen out of production under tK program will be put to conservation uses. In addition to conservation practices, wildlife plant ings and vegetative cover assistance will be authorized for preserving open space and natural beauty. Other practices authorized for costshare assistance fall within the general category of preventing air and water pollution practices^ and measures to provide better outdoor recreation.
The program will be administered by Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation (ASC) Committees. Full details on how the program applies to an individual farm is available in the ASCS county office.
