Village Shop Finds It
Pays To Advertise
Though results of advertising are often intangible, Mrs. Mary Cleverley, proprietor of the Village Shop in Flint Hill, says it definitely pays to advertise, and related this concrete example. She recently had visitors from Michigan who said they had watched her advertisement in the Rappahannock News each week with much interest, noting the variety of^gttems listed from week to^week. Having lived in Rappahannock a number of years ago, they decided when passing through on a trip they would certainly include a visit to the Village Shop on their itinerary. So they did and were apparently pleased with the selection and their purchases.
In all of the conversation Mrs. Cleverley did not get their name, but did say they had formerly taught in the local school. A run-down of our mailing list disclosed the visitors must have been Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Doman now living in Battle Creek.
