$10,000 for Ed. TV
The Shenandoah Valley Educational Television Corporation announced today the receipt of a financial grantfrom the Public Welfare Foundation, Incorporated of Washington, D. C.
The receipt of a $10,000 grant to be used in the establishment of an educational television station to serve the Valley area was announced by Arthur Hamilton, General Manager of the Educational Television Corporation. In a letter to Mrs. Claudia H. Marsh, President of Public Welfare Foundation, Mr. Hamilton expressed the thanks of Shenandoah Valley Educational Television for^a key contribution which will aid in the development of a project to serve a 12 county area having real and active educational needs. Shenandoah Valley Educational Television is currently engaged in testing various sites, frequencies and power levels to be used in its transmission facilities. Hamilton stated that completion of the testing would permit the Corporation to move forward at a much more rapid rate in its construction plans. Public Welfare Foundation is a private organization, serv ing world wide needs in the promotion of human welfare giving to individuals or groups whose need is genuine and urgent, improving education, health and living conditions. This foundation formerly had its office in Washington, Va. at Jessamine Hill.
