To Meet In

Williamsburg-- a wellknown history teacher, Professor Josph Harrison of the Geprge Mason College of the University of Virginia in Fairfax, will speak June 27 at a Woman’s Conference for Arm istead L. Boothe in Williamsburg. He will be the kickoff speaker at a luncheon, where the theme will be “Return To the Source.” The meeting is expected to attract women from all over the Commonwealth.
Boothe, a former state senator, is contesting Harry F. Byrd, Jr. for a seat in the U. S. Senate, in the July 14 Democratic primary. The Williamsburg program will begin with a coffee at the Carter-Saunders House, former home of Robert Carter of Nomini Hall and Governor Robert Dinwiddle. Located adjacent to the Governor’s Palace, it is now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Gonzales. Registration will take place at the Williamsburg Conference Center during the morning. After the luncheon, four women active in the Virginia political scene will lead a panel discussion, “How Women Can Be Effective in the Boothe Campaign.” They are Mrs. Dorothy G. Davis, mayor of Washington, Va.. and three women members of the General Assembly, Mrs. Mary Marshall, Mrs. Marlon Galland, and Mrs. Dorothy McDiarmid. Small discussion
