Sperryville Fun Fair

A Fun Fair sponsored by the Sperryville Fire Department will be held Friday and Saturday nights, August26and 27, at the carnival grounds in that village. A variety of games, rides, prizes and good food will be featured in the two night event.
A prize of $5 cash will be given away Friday night and free tickets for this will be available at the awards stand. Saturday night the following prizes will be awarded: an old Virginia ham; a 30-cup coffee maker; an electric percolator.
At midnight Saturday there will be an auction sale of all items left over. The Fun Fair is being held since rain impeded the progress of Sperryville’s annual ■ fund raising carnival and some prizes, etc. were not disposed of.
Fall Rummage Sales During September
Property owners, do you realize those "castaways" you find \yhen you house clean your attic, kitchen, pantry or basement may help save your home from burning one day? The Ladies Auxiliary to the Washington Fire Department and Rescue Squad will be happy to sell anything you may have at their semi-annual Sale which will be held each Thursday and Friday during the month of September. The location is in the basement of the Postoffice building and hours are between 9 and 5 o’clock. Please leave your donations at salesroom door or with W. B. Jenkins or call 675-3352*.
