Isakson, Entomologist, Economic Insect Reporting Service, has been requested to survey the extent of grasshopper infestation and damage in these two Rappahannock communities. For grasshopper control in home gardens he recommends 1.4 lbs 80% Carbaryl (Sevin) per acre.

Mr. and Mrs. John G. Cargill and Jeanne and John Buckingham of West Orange, N. J. were guests from Thursday until Saturday of Mr. and Mrs Cargill, Jr. Jimmy Buckingham returned home with them after spending some time in the Cargill home. Guests last week of Mr. and Mrs. George Bentley of Ash Tree Farm were Mr. and Mrs Clyde B. Roark and Miss Edna Guthrie of Nathalie. Week-end guests were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bray of Lennig, Va. Mrs. John D. Wood with Jen ner and Dudley Wood of Atlanta^ Ga. arrived Monday at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Miller. Mr. Wood will join them at Millermead on Thursday. On Friday they will leave for Newport News to visit Mr. and Mrs. John Paul son whose guests for the weekend will also be Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Vaughanand children Bradford and Jack Miller Vaughan of Ridgewood, N. J.
