In your scribe’s opinion Rap pahannock is the driest county in Northern Virginia, that is for sure the driest he has seen. Obviously there will be n o second cutting of m i x e d hays. Corn in the Flint Hill, A missville a nd Viewtown areas is pathetic. Fodder is short most everywhere except ing on first bottom land and mostly late planted corn at that. July’s measurable rainfall 0.91 inches was the lowest at Washington sincethefirst record was kept in 1945. Rainfall for the month of May was 0.69 inches below the 21 year average. Drought conditions worsened in June which monthly average was a full 2.1 inches below the 21 year average. Worse yet the past three consecutive Junes have been the driest of our 21 year history: 1.32"
