Home Mutual Meeting
The annual meeting of the Rappahannock Home Mutual Fire Insurance Company was held Saturday, January 14, 1967. At this time new bylaws were adopted and a copy of them given to each member present. Increasing insurance on from 75% to 80%, of the appraised value was the only change of any consequence made in the bylaws before their adoption.
A contribution of $50 was made to each of the six volunteer fire companies in the county.
Schools Closed Friday
Rappahannock County Schools will be closed Friday in order that teachers' may have a between semesters work day. examinations have been completed and now' registers must be filled in by the teachers.
Washington Student Now Practice Teaching
Miss 1 ucy Diane Bruce, l.ongwi rid College senior from Washington, will be in Roanoke the next v«ight weeks doing her practice teaching in shorthand, typing, and bookkeeping at Jefferson High School. Miss Bruce’s practice teach ing will be done under the supervision of a Roanoke teach er in cooperath>n with the 1 ong wood department of education. A W(i3 graduate of Warrenton High School, Miss Bruce is working toward a bachelor of science is business education degree. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack W. Bruce, of Washington, Va.
