According to John 13. Harmon, superintendent of the Eastern Wood Procuremeni district for Westvaco’s Luke, Md., mill, the new installation, which will be opened ai Winston on Jan. 30, will have an annual economic impact of approximately $300,000 or this section of Virginia. This figure, Harmon said, is based on payments for pulpwood, freight charges, maintenance and administrative and operat ing expenses. The new facility, representing an investment to the company of about $60,000, includes a combination office, scales and scale building.
