Flower School
Course One of the Flower School sponsored by the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs, in cooperation with the Va. Polytechnic Institute, in Blacksburg, will be held at the Hotel Chamberlin, Fort Monroe, January 31 to February 2. Flower Show practice will be taught by Mrs. Rolland L. Fifer of Louisville, Ky., a Master Judge. Dr. Paul L. Smeal of VPI, Blacksburg, will teach Horticulture, with special eVnphasis on African violets, Philodendron, Dutch Iris and tulips. The immediate past president of Shenandoah District, Mrs. F. Paige Butler, Charlottesville, lectures on art principles as applied to flower arrangement, type of designline, massed line and mass, selection of plant material, conditioning, containers, me| chanics and textural relationships.
