By Nancy Buntin On Tuesday, March 28, R. C.H.S. students returned to school after a four day Easter holiday. There was the usual groaning and griping from both students and teachers but most of them were really anxious to get back. The week ended the previous Thursday with an Easter assembly at which the Rev. William A. Harrison of the Reynolds Memorial Baptist: Church in Sperryville was speaker. The theme of his talk was “Pine Trees; House ; Keys; Parentheses". The students were very grateful that Mr. Harrison could be with them for the occasion. Miss Younger and the choir pre-1 sented a selection of Easter hymns to the student bodyjf Miss Jean Woodard, VicePresident of the S.C.A., introduced the program. The Student Cooperative As-i sociation met Wednesday,! March 29, after school todis-- cuss plans - for- S.tJ.A. Weete which will run from April 2f through 8. The organization: in the school will put up posters and bulletin boards, sing ( the S.C.A. pledge daily, state the aims and objectives of the i S. C.A. and distribute buttons in an effort to make students more aware of the functions and purpose of the S.C.A. in student life. After all new business had been taken care of the S.C.A. members finished the task of sorting out stamps to be sent to the organization which will buy milk for needy children overseas. Monday, the S.C.A. again met to inform representatives that during the week a collection would be taken up among the students to help pay for the building of a new S.C.A. headquarters. The present one at Richmond has recently been condemned, thus making it necessary for the occupants to relocate. The 1967-68 Annual Staff was announced Friday. The members chosen were; Jeanne Woodard, Sandra Foster - Co-Editors; Terry Kilby Assistant Editor; Amy Palmer - Co-assistant Editor; Beverly Beahm - Business Manager; Stewart Hawkins - Assistant Business Manager; Janet Hackley - Photographer Joanne Van Brederode - Artist.
This is Future Homemakers of America Week. The members of the organization at R.C.H.S. are celebrating the event by putting up bulletin boards and posters, wearing their new F.H.A. pins and working as teachers’ aides through the week.
