Miss Susan Garvey Laing became the bride of Dwight Sage Platt in an afternoon ceremony Saturday, April 1, 1967 at St. James Episcopal Church, Warrenton, Va. Miss Laing is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas G a rv e y Laing of Amissville and Washington, D. C. Mr. Platt is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Beach Platt, Jr. of Chevy Chase, Maryland. The ceremony was performed at fouV o’clock by the Rev. David J. Greer before an altar decorated with vases of white snapdragons and chrysanthemums. Mrs. Raymond Schwab, organist, presented a program of nuptial music including the wedding marches. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her full length gown was of antique j white peau de soie fashioned I on Empire lines with a chapel
j train. The bodice, elbow length I sleeves and front panel of the skirt were overlaid with lace embroidered with seed pearls. Her veil of antique lace belonged to her great aunt and was worn by both her mother and her aunt. She carried a cascade of stephanotis.
Mrs. Noel Armstrong Laing of Amissville, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. Miss Eileen Hyland Laing of Washington, D. C. was maid of honor for her sister and Mrs. James Beach Platt, III of Stevenson, Md., sister -in - law of the bride
