(Continued from Page 1) Blindness. Physicians and nurses donate their services. The Lions Clubs have been active in the sight conservation and aid to the blind field for many years. One of the most important activities today is the development of the Old Dominion Lye Bank and Research, Inc. Funds are raised to further research and many Lions, as well as many other people have pledged their eyes to the Bank when they no longer need them. The Cornea of the eye can be transplanted to persons with a defective cornea and the vision can often be saved or restored. The balance of the eye is used in research. Other projects are free eye examinations and glasses for ineedy school children, special equipment for classes for children with impaired vision and eye operations for needy patients.
