groom, was the bridesmaid. The attendants all wore identical long gowns of floral printed linen in shades of blue green and yellow. They were sleeveless with scooped necklines and bell-shaped skirts. They wore circlets of ivy as headpieces and carried cascades of ivy. Kathleen Armstrong Laing of Amissville, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Her dress was white sprigged muslin trimmed in blue and she carried a basket of blue tipped carnations. Her head piece was a circlet of ivy. William Harper Girvin, Jr. of Chevy Chase was best mar for Mr. Platt and ushers were James Beach Platt III of Stever son, the bridegroom’s brother, Dr. Noel Armstrong Lainj of Amissville, brother of the bride, Linn Bernhardt Fosso: Chevy Chase and George Thorson of Sandwich Massachusetts.
The mother of the bride wore a willow green silk coi tume and green tulle hat. She carried a green cymbidj um orchid on her purse. Mrs. Platt chose a gown of powder blue ribbon knit and a blue flowered hat. Her cor sage was of pink cymbidium orchids.
A reception was held at Bun ree Farm, Amissville, home of the bride’s parents, after which Mr. and Mrs. Platt left for a wedding trip to England.
