He served the Collierstown Presbyterian Church in Rockbridge County for 4 years, then accepted a call to the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in; Greensboro, N. C. where he| served two years. While in1 Greensboro, Mr. Douty grad uated from the School of Pas toral Care of the BowmanGray School of Medicine ini Winston-Salem, N. C. The Doutys came to Culpeper in 1963 where he is min ister of the Culpeper Presbyterian Church. He was instrumental in establishing a Chapter of the Mental Health Association and has served as its charter president fori three years. Mr. Douty is a: member of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Association for Mental Health and is chairman of the State; Mental Health Association Committee on Comprehensive! Community Mental Health' Centers. He is past chairman! of the VAMH Committee on! Aftercare and Rehabilitation.;
