Oakley H. Bowen
Oakley Homer Bowen, a native of Sperryville,'Rappahannock County, Virginia, died Sunday, April 9, 1967 in the Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton where he had been a patient for two weeks. He was 78 years of age, and was the son of the late Joseph William Bowen and the late Annie Vir ginia Bowen of Rappahannock County. He had been residing in Warrenton for the past six years with his daughter and son-in *Law,< Mr. and Mrs. Thurman A. Woodward. His wife was the former Virginia Elizabeth Atkins who survives him. Other survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Thurman A. Woodward of Warrenton, Mrs. Ray Dwyer of Sperryville; 'Mrs^Ollie Frazier of Remington; Mrs. Roy Clatterbuck of The Plains and Mrs. George Canard of Amissville; three sons, Sam Bowen of Lovettsville, Va., Leo M., and James William Bowen of Sperryville one sister, Mrs. Nina Dwyer of Sperryville and a brother Clement C. Bowen of Middletown, Va.; 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral swrvices were con ducted Wednesday, at 2:00 o' clock from the Thornton Gap Primitive Baptist Church in Sperryville with Elder T. E. Majors of Front Royal officiating. Interment was in the Woodward section of the Warrenton Cemetery. Geest Funeral Parlors of Culpeper were in charge of the arrangements.
