From the Book...
'The wages of sin is death.* (Rom. 6:23). “Be sure your sin will find you out.* (Numb. 32:23). The Bible declares that sin is a reality. It consists of the rejection of the will of God in one form or another. God has revealed His will in His word and confirmed it in the moral conscience of man. Since God is the source of all truth. His will is the supreme and final law. Broken law demands a penalty. Therefore the Bible says *The wages of sin is death.* Some day there will be a pay day. Death implies all that is stored up for the sinner at the judgment of God. Many feel they are not “such bad sinners* and do not need conversion. But the Bible says “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.* The person who refuses to repent and believe God must receive the wages of his sins. I would rather have mercy through the cross of Christ. He died to provide forgiveness.
God required that we accept his forgiveness in Christ by personal faith. Unless one has personal faith in the Savior he cannot claim forgiveness. Therefore, the Bible says “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.* (Acts 16:31)
