Last week at R.C.H.S. ended with a surprise and a celebration. The S.C. A. surprised the teachers with its annual Teacher Appreciation Day and celebrated it with a morning assembly program, coffee and doughnuts before school, a special luncheon in the Home Economics Room and flowers At the assembly teachers were presented with carnations and appreciation notes written by the students. They then heard speeches of tribute from three guest speakers, the Rev. Char1 les Kindred, Mr. I. R. Kilby and Mr. Robert Leonard; and two student speakers, Carter Moffett and Eddie Clark. Later at the luncheon the teachers were served fried chicken, broccoli, congealed salad baked potatoes, rolls and apple pie. Thursday, Mrs. Fred Hecht of the L. G. Balfour Company came to R.C.H.S. to take orders from the juniors for senior class rings. The price of the rings was $17.50 for girls; $22.50 for boys. The Future Homemakers of America Club met on Wednesday, April 19th to elect their 1967-68 officers. The new officers are: President Gloria Dodson; Vice President-Charlotte Foster; Secretary - Debbie Pullen Treasurer - Nancy Deal; Historian - Beverly Payne; Reporter -Rosalie Settle; Photographer - Barbara Jenkins; Correspondent -L inda Dulin. On the baseball schedule this past week was a game played against Elkton on Friday. The final score was Elkton 6; Rappahannock 4. The next game is with Page County on Tuesday, April 25.
