3-Day Trials Held by
Fox Hunters Assn.
The baying of hounds was prominent in the area around Boston last week as 360 fox hounds competed in field trials sponsored by the Northern Virginia Fox Hunter's Association. Hounds were cast from the Oliver Durant farm and from Longlea in the three day trials which followed a bench show Wednesday. Competitors from Rappahannock included Miss Misty Lynn Hitt of Woodville and W. H. Lyne, Washington. In the derby bitches class, Miss Hitt’s Red Oak Dot and Red Oak Snowflakes placed 7th and 9th respectively. The all age dogs class found her Deacon Jake C in second place and Lyne’s Intervale Kelso placed 6th. Intervale Slip, owned by Lyne was 5th in the all age bitches, and Red Oak Cay, owned by Miss Hitt, was 6th. The best in show pairs put Mr. Lyne’s Fact and Fiction 2nd and Miss Hitt’s Tick and Tock in 3rd place. Her Deacon Jake C was also judged best in natural carriage.
