serve on the Mexican border before going to Europe. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Kochli; a son, Col. Fred Kochli, Jr. of Hampton, Va. and a daughter Mrs. Claude B. Andrews of Norfolk. Six sisters, one brother and five grandchildren also survive.
A funeral service was held at Ft. Myer Chapel on Friday and interment was in ArlingtonNa tional Cemetery.
Lewis Gibbs Turner
Lewis Gibbs Turner, retired farmer and Federal Land Bank employee of Chase City died Friday in the Roanoke Valley Nursing Home at Rich Square, N. C., where he had lived for many years. He was 89. He was the father of the late Lewis John Turner of Washington, Va. Survivors include five sons, Joseph Turner of South Hill, Claud G. Turner of Arlington, William Turner of Blacksburg, Oscar Turner of Detroit, Michigan, and the Rev. Vines Turner of West Point and one daughter Mrs. Gordon Hanna of Holland. A funeral service was held Sunday at the Newcomb Funeral Home with interment in Chase City. The service was conducted by the Rev. Vines Turner.
