Mr. and Mrs. J. Stant Weaver were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Penaranda and family in Fairfax. They were joined there on Sunday by Mr. and Mrs. Leo Wood of Takoma Park, Md. and John Weaver of Washington, D. C. Jack Racer was in Charlottes ville recently for a check up at the Blue Ridge Sanitorium. Miss Mary Brooke Massie was the week-end guest of Mrs. W. H. Massie, jr. Mrs. Massie was the Sunday night supper guest of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Massie at Meadow Grove. Arriving for the week-end at Mt. Prospect, home of Mr. and Mrs. W. Arthur Miller are Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Linden blad and three children, Eric, Kristina and Ambler of Ridgewood, N. J. and Dr. G. Tyler Miller of Harrisonburg. Dr. L. John Turner of Norwich, Vt. was the guest from Wednesday until Friday last week of his mother Mrs. L. J. Turner. Mrs. L. J. Turner with her daughter Mrs. William S. Dewhirst of Richmond attended the funeral service Sunday of Mrs. Dewhirst's grandfather Mr. Lewis Gibbs Turner in Chase City. David Palmer left Wednesday for Great Lakes, Michigan to undergo training with the U. S. Navy. David J. Racer and daughter Louise, Elizabeth Singer and Ira D. Blevins were Sunday guests of Lyle Racer in Luray. Capt. William Weiner of Bridgewater was a luncheon guest Tuesday of Mr. and Mrs. W. Arthur Miller, Judge and Mrs. R. V.
