Robert E. McLaughlin of Washington, D. C„ a former resident here, was a recent visitor of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Fincham and family and also attended a meeting of the Angler’s Club in Madison County of which he isthepresi dent. Mrs. O. B. Smith and son Edward of Etlan and Mrs. Annabelle Payne of Madison were Friday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Olney Kennedy. Sunday afternoon guests were Mrs. James Minnis and son Chris of Culpeper, Mrs. John Coates of Alexandria and Mr. and Mrs. Waver Kennedy of Slate Mills. \ We extend congratulations to Miss Linda Diane Powers of Holly Spring Farm, in placing first runner-up in the recent beauty contest in Culpeper. Mrs. Hazel Barfield spent Wednesday through Saturday visiting her son and daughterin-law Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Barfield and family of Berryville. They spent Thursday and Friday in Winchester to attend the Apple Blossom1 Festival. The Barfields returned home with Mrs. Barfield for Saturday evening and Sunday.
