Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Payne were visitors Monday night of his brother Edward Payne who is a patient in an Arlington Hospital. Mrs. S.W. Riley, Mrs. J. L. Walter and Mrs. Julia Curtis were at The Plains Tuesday to visit Mrs. W. W. Walter and Mrs. Kenneth Ellison. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth McNeil and Miss Carol Rowzie all of Richmond were guests for the day Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph H. Rpwzie. Capt. and Mrs. Robert Lewis Green of California are spend ing the summer here occupying the home of Mrs. Ethel Hall while she is in Alaska.

Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Bowey had as their guests Friday Mr. and Mrs. Robert LaPlanche of Baltimore, Md. On Saturday their guests were Mr. and Mrs. John Havenner of Oxon Hill, Md. Mrs. Charles Kindred is spending a few days in Brookeville, Pa. due to an illness in her family. She was accompanied to Brookeville by Rev. Kindred who returned by way of Titusville, Pa. and was accompanied home by his mother Mrs. C. F. Kindred who is staying here during the Junior Mrs. Kindred’s absence.

Guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Burner and daughter Faye were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Burnerand Jerry Burner, all of Rockbridge Baths. Mrs. Ethel Hall left last week for Fairbanks, Alaska where she plans to spend five months with her sonanddaugh ter-in-law SSgt. and Mrs. William Putnam. Mrs. Hall went by plane from Dulles Airport. During Mrs. Hall's visit, Mrs. Putnam and children will visit tier father in Casablanca. Mr. and Mrs. Norvel James spent Saturday in Charlottesville where they visited their 3on-in-law and daughter Mr. ind Mrs. John B. Geer. Miss Landra Dennis spent :he weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Dennis ind returned Sunday to RPI, Elichmond where she is a stulent.

Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Priest ind family were in Midland Sunday to attend the re-enactnew-orthfe Battrfe^of'Biurftiy Station. Enroute home they visited Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Dolvin.
