Plkton High School scored two runs In the home half of the fifth inning to nip the Rappahannock County High Panthers 6-5 Tuesday as the Panthers still seek their first win..
The Panthers out hit Plkton 10-6, hut came up one short in the run column. Maury Nich ols paced the Panthers attack with three singles. Stewart Henry contributed a single and a double, and James Grigsby had a pair of hits, one, a three run double in the fifth inning. Grigsby later scored himself Floyd Grigsby started and was given the loss while Hill Saum was the winner for Plkton. Parlier the Panthers dropped two more contests this past week. F riday they were topped by I.uray 7-2 and In a make-up game Monday were beaten by Broadway, 6-2. Paul Aylor had a triple and a single against I.uray and also had a hit against Broadway to continue to lead (.roup II Distric t 10 hitters. Friday the Panthers play host to Page County and end the season Tuesday with a night game at Turner Ashby.
