Your ESSO dealer in rural Amissville, Va. is a most resourceful and cooperative fellow.
During a recent weather emergency in Amissville, electric power was interrupted for several days and all service stations in the area were closed -• except the ESSO dealer, Elmer Jenkins. To overcome the lack of electric power for the gas pumps Elmer wheeled out his old lawnmower and pumped gas with it by means of a pulley and belt arrangement with the gas pump pulley. Although it took two men to pump gas, one to hold and run the lawnmower and the other to handle the hose, he pumped a lot of gas during those days!
In addition, my previous experience with Mr. Jenkins has proven him to be unusually competent, friendly, and a distinct credit to his community. You are to be congratulated for your choice of dealers of ESSO products. You could find none better than Elmer Jenkins.
During this period, Mr. Jenkins also demonstrated his cooperativeness by selling me a jackass on my ESSO CREDIT CARD for $25.00. Although this may be an infraction of your rules concerning credit card purchases, I hope you will overlook it in this case. It certainly illustrates the wide variety of uses of an ESSO credit card in the field of »' transportation!’
