Mrs. Minnie B. Williams, postmaster at Chester Gap, entered Warren Memorial Hospital last Wednesday and underwent surgery on Thursday. She is improving satisfactorily. Mrs. LeMerle Williams is in charge of the post office during Mrs. Williams’ absence. Mrs. Williams was visited in the hospital Saturday night by Mrs. LeMerle Williams and Mrs. Dorothy Corder.

Mr. and Mrs. Sonny Williams and family of Manassas were visitors Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Williams. Their Sunday visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Leake and family of Culpeper.

Mrs. Laura Beatty and Mrs. Mary Cameron of Hume were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Sam North.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wines of Front Royal were visitors last Saturday night of Mr. and Mrs. Lewin Williams.

Approximately 20 members and friends of the Chester Gap Baptist Mission gave the Rev. and Mrs. Roy Mathena, the new pastor, a surprise housewarming on Saturday night, November 9, at their home.

Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Williams, Stan, Mike and Melody of Front Royal were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Williams.

Mrs. Marion Chase and her daughter Mrs. Marion Barb of Washington, D. C. visited Mrs. Phyllis Morris recently.

Mrs. Shirley Shelton of Alexandria visited her mother Mrs. M. M. Chastain, her sister Mrs. Bessie Parks and her brother Howard Chaney at their home on the Blue Ridge Subdivision last Monday. The Chester Gap Homemakers Club meeting was postponed from last Thursday night until Thursday, (tonight) November 21, at 7:30. Ray Priest of Front Royal spent the weekend with Jerry Allen Williams. Joe Priest spent the weekend with his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Williams. Visiting the Williams on Sunday were Nancy, Bruce and Linda McNeill, all of Front Royal.
