OBITUARIES
Mrs. Ethel Jenkins
A funeral service' for Mrs. Ethel Virginia Jenkins was held Monday at 2 p.m. at Geest funeral chapel, with burial in the family cemetery at SperryviDe. The Rev. William Harrison officiated. Mrs. Jenkins, 78, of Berryville, widow of James Rosser Jenkins, died Saturday, November 16, 1968, at Winchester Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Rappahannock County, daughter of the late James and Laura Mildred Emory Peyton. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. George Deal of Berryville, Miss Sallie Jenkins of Berryville and Mrs. Rudy Vaughters of Hyattsville, Md., a son, James Rosser Jenkins of Rixeyville; and three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Deal of Sperryville, Mrs. Elizabeth Jenkins of Winchester and Mrs. Martha Stickel of Fairfax; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John L. Leake, Andrew Deal, Floyd Brown, Chester Wayland, Clarence W. Jenkins and Harry Deal.
In the Service
Army Specialist Four Ronald D. Hawkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton M. Hawkins Jr., Washington, Va., received the Good Conduct Medal Oct. 25 while assigned to the 820th Ordnance Company in Vietnam.
Spec. Hawkins received the award for exemplary conduct, efficiency and fidelity in active military service.
