Washington Bridge Club

Mrs. C. B. Palmer entertained the Washington Bridge Club Thursday evening at her home Scuffle Hill. Her guests were Mrs. L. J. Turner, Mrs. W. H. Massie, Jr., Mrs. T. C. Lea, Mrs. H. M. Keyser, Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Jr., Mrs. Harry Lee Smith, Mrs. E. M. Jones, Mrs. F. W. Spalding, Mrs. John S. Browning, Mrs. Harold Scoggin, and Mrs. Fred Schaefer.
Prizes were won by Mrs. Keyser, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Turner and Mrs. Moffett.
4-H Club News
4-H members of Mrs. Walker’s 7th grade room 33 met November 21 under the supervision of Mr. Lyne. We had a program led by secretary Steve Keys and song leader Mike Paul. We elected Tom Taylor devotions leader.
Work on our project, Home Grounds Beautification, was done. A discussion on Guacomole, a Mexican dish eaten on tortilla which is a commeal product, was held and we were served guacomole and bugles provided by Mrs. Kendricks, who we thank. We discussed rooting an avocado, then we ended.

graduate of the Music Department of the College of Fine Arts, Syracuse University. At present she is choirmaster and organist at Calvary Episcopal Church, Front Royal, and a teacher of piano and organ. The choir will sing a program of Christmas music. Included will be the 17th century cantata “Rejoice, Beloved Christians” by the German composer Dietrich Buxtehude, and a “Fantasia on Christmas Carols” by M. Vaughan Williams.
