Sunset Vespers
Begin at Luray
The 29th annual series of Sunset Vesper Services will start this coming Sunday, June 29th, on the lawn of the Luray Singing Tower. As in former years, Carilloneur Charles T. Chapman, in a recital of the world’s most inspirational music, will ring out the prelude of this year’s first service.
These ten summer services afford true opportunity of worship and unsurpassed outdoor beauty at eventide, and since 1940 have appealed in increasing measure to local residents and tourists of all denominations.
The speaker at this opening service is the president of the Sunset Vespers Association, The Rev. Ralph W. Hoffmeyer, pastor of Luray’s St. Mark Lutheran Church.
The musical setting will feature the Page County Community Chrous under the direction of Mr.
