Wheat Support Loan
Price Announced
Wheat price-support loan rates in Rappahannock County for the 1969 crop will be $1.34 a bushel, it was announced today by H. S. Barksdale, Chairman of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation County Committee.
All rates, as announced recently by the U. S. Department of Agriculture, reflect the previously determined national average farm loan rate of $1.25 per bushel, the same as the 1968 crop.
Basic terminal rates will range from $1.45 to $1.70 a bushel. Several changes from 1968 are being made in price relationships among terminals, based on a review of terminal cash market prices, prices paid to farmers, trends in production and utilization and freight rate patterns and changes. All terminal rates reflect a uniform 1-cent adjustment to offset the 1-cent increase in the Uniform Grain Storage Agreement loading-out charge.
Chairman Barksdale said that the price-support premium and discount schedule will be unchanged from that of 1968. Producers, to qualify for price-support loans or to be eligible for CCC purchases, will stay within their 1969 allotments and cooperate with the program;
Larry Wayland and daughter Kim of Arlington. On Wednesday Mrs. C. R. Hall of Falls Church and her sister-in-law from California were dinner guests. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson' have returned from a visit to relatives and friends in Alabama.
Robert F. Estes has returned to his home after being a patient for about twelve days in Culpeper Memorial Hospital. He is recuperating satisfactorily.
