I was very pleased to hear that the Board of Supervisors recently requested the local telephone companies to get together and establish total free dialing within Rappahannock County. I believe that most residents would be in favor of this, even though it might mean a slight increase in the rates.
I have been in contact with the Manager of the Culpeper office to try to establish this system. Although he was very courteous and cooperative, he did not hold out any promise of fruition in the near future because he did not feel that the majority of subscribers would be in favor. It would help if those who are would write him and express opinions on this proposed change.

I wish to commend you and Mr. Terhune for the recent article on Mr. Terhune’s experiences at a Rappahannock County auction. Not only were the experiences very interesting, but Mr. lerhune’s writing style was exceptionally fine and his descriptions vivid and humorous. Would welcome other articles by Terhune on his down-to-earth Rappahannock experiences. Would also find interesting a series of biographic sketches on various County officials such as the County Clerk, Commissioner of Jtevenue, Commonwealth Attorney etc.
