This watering trough, on the Beauregard Stock Farm at Brandy, is the eighth watering trough installed on this farm according to David J. Poe, District Conservationist. Mr. Honeycutt, Farm Manager, knows the value of good water for the dairy herd. This trough will supply 500 gallons of pine water, free of parasites and other foreign matter. The water flows by gravity through an underground pipe to the trough. Another pipe catches the overflow and carries the excess water to a small stream. Cost share, through the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service office in Washington, Virginia, may be available to interested persons.
