Arts Exhibit And
Lunch Cancelled
Announcement is made by the Arts & Crafts Group that the luncheon and exhibit scheduled for May 16 has been postponed indefinitely. The decision was reached at a meeting Tuesday of the group.
At the meeting Tuesday, Mrs. Florence Pugh of Culpeper explained the laying of gold leaf to the group and showed equipment needed for the process. Mrs. Mary Cleverley displayed handwork including embroidery from Europe.
The demonstration was given by Mrs. Frances Grimsley of Culpeper on tole stenciling and this was followed by a workshop on the same. Tole stenciling will be continued at the next meeting of the group scheduled for May 26. If you plan to do this work, bring a tray or other article prepared for stenciling.
Amissville Homemakers Given Emergency Ups
Paul A. Poling, a member of the tanissville Rescue Squad, was the ipeaker for the May meeting of he Amissville Homemakers Club vhich was held last Thursday. Mr. ’oling spoke on first aid and emergencies in the home. Another feature of the program >f the meeting was a film on mphysema presented by Mrs. iladys Harris of the Northern Virginia Tuberculosis and Health association with headquarters in ■font Royal. ■
