aspects of the habit; HOW craving f an be lessened; HOW willpower can be strengthened; physical effects of smoking; organizations cf the buddy system and many other techniques designed to break the habit within the five-day period. A feature will be the film “One in 20,000” depicting in full color a lung cancer operation, to be shown on November 15, the first evening of the therapy session. This public service is offered to all people of all ages.

The sponsors urge that non-smokers and those who have kicked the habit can help by notifying and encouraging friends and relatives to participate.

“Success doesn’t come to those who wait - and it doesn’t wait for anyone to come to it. “Tis fatal to delay,” according to W. Lawson Cowart, president of the Christmas Seal Association.

Registration for the sessions should be made as soon as possible by calling 635-5400 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Developed under the sponsorship of the Seventh-Day Adventist denomination, the PLAN was originated by J. Wayne McFarland, M.D., and Elman J. Folkenberg, clergyman, both of South Lancaster, Massachusetts. As many as 550 smokers have enrolled in the PLAN at one time.
