RANDY ROUSE IS BRINGING his top horses to the Rappahannock Hunt’s Thornton Hill Course Saturday, March 4, for the twenty-third running of the Rappahannock Point-to-Point Races. Rouse, who was victorious in the Casanova Cup Race, intends to add further points toward winning the Seven Corner’s Trophy by riding his Free Movement over timber in the Ben Venue race for gentlemen riders.

He will get strong opposition in his bid from Maryland’s David Semmes on Half Smoke, who slipped and fell early in the race last Saturday. Other outstanding horses and riders are also pouring into Rappahannock for this event which is held at James W. Fletcher’s Thornton Hill Farm, located a mile and a half south of Sperryville on Route 522.

The all-new Rappahannock Hurdle Race has received the seal of approval from top owners and trainers as a dozen hurdlers from Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania have entered and more are expected. Seven horse races will be crowned as
